Reviews and Ratings
I stayed at Lindsay with my wife and kids in an executive room from March 24th to April 1st. The rooms had huge windows, lots of light, nicely furnished, cool wood floors, and a large bed. However, cleanliness was not up to par. The location is excellent for shopping and exploring Kolkata, but there is a stinky odor in the evening. The service staff, from reception to bell boys to restaurant staff, showed great patience, especially navigating the narrow lanes of New Market. The dining experience had a variety of items, but breakfast was not given upon departure despite prior notice. The hotel lacked a sense of urgency in service delivery.
The hotel is located in a fascinating area, right in the heart of the bustling New Market and surrounded by authentic Bengali restaurants. The rooms, while small and improperly cleaned, suffered from extreme temperatures due to ineffective air conditioning. However, the service from reception to the bell boy and restaurant staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming, despite a lackluster dining experience that did not offer good value for money. The proximity to New Market, a hotspot for shoppers in Kolkata, adds to the location's appeal.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The 'executive room' offered good toilet amenities and fresh towels daily, with a lovely city view. However, the service from the staff lacked attentiveness and felt disorganized. The location had its drawbacks for solo female travelers but was excellent for shopping enthusiasts. The dining options left much to be desired, and certain facilities fell short of expectations.
